Mirrors

Mirrors

I’ve been amazed getting to know my kids on a deeper level as they’re becoming young adults.

I think our kids can often times be mirrors for us.  I’m not suggesting this in an egotistical way, or in a manner that paves the way for living vicariously through them, rather, they can reflect aspects of our lives which challenge us to grow.

Sure, we will always have more years on our kids, and hopefully, more wisdom — but that doesn’t mean our kids cannot teach us a thing or two about life.  After all, how will we continue to understand and empathize with younger and younger generations if it’s not at least in part, through our kids?

Let’s not be afraid to look deep within the mirror of our own selves — and also let the reflections of the younger generations continue to reflect anew in us.

If we stop to notice, there are mirrors all around us — let’s learn a thing or two from gazing into the mirror.
