A True Encounter

A True Encounter

“True encounter with Christ liberates something in us, a power we did not know we had, a hope, a capacity for life, a resilience, an ability to bounce back when we thought we were completely defeated, a capacity to grow and change, a power of creative transformation.” — Thomas Merton

I think many of us go through seasons where we feel like we’re stuck in a rut.  Maybe our creativity seems challenged or life just continues to throw us curveballs when we’re not ready.

Whatever it is, we need to come back to receiving our power from Christ and stop trying to generate our power through our sheer will and force.

The yoke is easy and the burden is light — we are promised this.

Our Source is not from this world — Our Power comes from above and beyond, not merely from our finite resources.

We must encounter Christ and let that power be our source of inspiration, our change agent, and our resilience to a broken world — it is then, we start to see not through our own eyes and perspective, but from an eternal wide-angle lens.
