“The quality of any creative endeavor tends to approach the level of taste of whoever is in charge.” — John Gruber
If you find yourself leading a project or endeavor, remember the quality of the work will be a reflection of you personally. If you don’t like that level of responsibility, then possibly you’re better off collaborating, but not leading an endeavor.
We must not only discover our creative gifts, but also where we best fit into the schema of creative endeavors: as a collaborator, as a solo artist, as someone that brings vital energy, as a producer, as an architect, as a designer, etc.
Also consider over the course of time, that place might shift, change, and evolve — after all, if we’re trying to grow as an artist, as a person, then we will most likely evolve in the ways we are most impactful in creative pursuits.
If you’re feeling stuck in your creative endeavors, possibly consider filling in a new role within the creative process — it might just unlock a hidden talent or two.
