Beethoven's Late-In-Life Originality

Beethoven's Late-In-Life Originality

Many people know that Beethoven became deaf later in life.  What I find interesting to think about with his deafness is that it also created a sense of originality he could not have achieved otherwise.

Beethoven going deaf caused him to not know the music of his contemporaries.  He could no longer live in a comparative manner because he simply could not hear what his contemporaries were composing.

Think about it, his physical ailment of being deaf forced him to be original.  He simply could not get inspiration from any other source besides the Source of Life.  He co-created with The Creator.

How can we be more like Beethoven in our later years?  What do we need to give up?  Unplug from?  Dive deeper into?  Embrace our limps?

Tap into The Divine, not the world.  Stop living in a comparative way.

Each of us is unique and we all have unique gifts and perspectives.  Let’s use those gifts to be originals, not copycats.  Let’s be inspired by the True Artist, not the popular media around us.
