I am a slow starter in the morning — okay, maybe an average starter at best. Coffee is a part of the morning routine and it’s not that I have to have a lot of it, but the 20-30 minute gap between first sip and human interaction can be a welcomed dose of quiet.
I’ve come to realize my morning routine is vitally important to the day. Sure, I am challenged to shrink it down here and there as I often find myself traveling or committing to early morning coffee meetings.
So I am embracing being quiet in the morning — hopefully some of that is with The Lord, but it’s okay if I am also quiet when I am meeting with others in the morning.
Being quiet allows The Spirit to move — to breathe.
So if you’re a fellow slow starter, don’t beat yourself up about it. Embrace the peace and quiet.
If you jump out of bed ready to tackle the day, remember that a bit of quiet reflection and time with The Source of Life might just help give you direction and peace.
Let’s embrace the peace in the respites of solitude of our days.
