“It is like a pure diamond, blazing with the invisible light of heaven. It is in everybody, and if we could see it we would see these billions of points of light coming together in the face and blaze of a sun that would make all the darkness and cruelty of life vanish completely.” — Thomas Merton
If we shine brightly, we will start to slowly erode away all of the messy layers our culture piles on us, and the facets of purity within us will start to show.
If we use our gifts in service, we will start to shine light on all of the things we should be grateful for, and our focus will shift away from the negativity, or even the passivity, that is so strongly and algorithmically encouraged.
Where are the builders? The creators? The innovators? As Steve Jobs would call them, “the crazy ones.”
We need more prophetic voices in our world — people not afraid to stand up for truth and call a spade a spade. Why do we dance around the difficult truths all too often?
Let’s be confident, and dare I say bold, in our standing up to evil — it’s all around us and we can’t let it achieve unnecessary victories. Let’s help each other, encourage each other, edify each other, and love each other.
Life can be fairly simple if we allow it to be — shine bright in your love, grace, and truth.
